Adidas Adizero Prime X3 St Blue

The Prime X3 St is the tidier sibling in the Prime X3 family, swapping the woven Strung upper for a more conventional engineered construction while keeping the same enormous midsole. In blue it looks closer to a normal trainer from above, right up until you see it from the side and the depth of the Lightstrike Pro platform becomes obvious.

Its job is absorbing mileage. Energyrods run the length of the foam to give the ride direction, so the shoe still rolls through the stride instead of collapsing under the weight of the stack. This is a max cushioned trainer and not a competition shoe, so save it for long runs, recovery days and any week where total volume matters more than pace.
