Nike Air ZoomX Alphafly Next 3% Coconut Milk

Coconut Milk is the warm cream option in the Alphafly 3 line, closer to off-white than to beige, with the midsole kept in a matching tone. It is the quietest-looking version of a shoe that is not quiet underfoot, and a reasonable choice if you would rather not line up for a race in neon.

The platform is Nike's marathon standard: a deep ZoomX midsole, forefoot Air Zoom pods and a carbon plate running the length of the shoe. The combination rolls you forward and rewards a high cadence. Below half marathon effort, most of what the shoe offers simply goes unused, so it belongs on the fast days only.
