Nike Zoom Alphafly Next% 3 Racer Blue

Racer Blue keeps things simple, a deep blue upper with minimal branding over the third generation Alphafly chassis. The construction is the familiar racing recipe: ZoomX foam filling the midsole, two Air Zoom pods sitting under the forefoot and a carbon plate running between them to keep the ride quick and consistent. Nike kept the outsole rubber minimal and placed it only where racing wear actually shows.

Where this version improved on its predecessors is stability. The wider base and lower heel make it easier to run in when your stride is tiring, which matters more in the last few miles than anything else. Use it for marathons, halves and the occasional fast long run, and rotate something cushioned for daily mileage.
