Nike Zoomx Vaporfly Next 4% Ekiden

The Ekiden colourway appears again on the fourth generation Vaporfly, keeping the soft tonal blocking that marks the pack out from Nike's mainline racing releases. The shoe is otherwise standard, with ZoomX foam filling a deeper midsole, a carbon plate running its full length and a minimal upper built for short exposure rather than daily wear.

Relay racing is where the Ekiden name comes from, and a hard five to ten mile leg plays to this shoe's strengths. It also works across the longer road distances, where the smoother rocker helps more than the extra responsiveness of the previous generation. Keep it aside for race efforts only. Shorter, harder efforts show off the platform better than a steady long run does.
