The GEL-TRABUCO 12 is ASICS' protection-first trail shoe. FF BLAST foam carries the cushioning with PureGEL in the heel to take the sting out of hard landings, and the outsole runs 4.5 mm ASICSGRIP lugs — genuinely aggressive, made for mud, loose dirt and off-camber ground rather than for hardpack. There is no rigid rock plate; instead a layer of very firm foam sits under the forefoot to blunt sharp rock.
