Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 41 Pure Platinum

Pure Platinum is about as close to a white running shoe as you can sensibly get, a pale silver-grey that looks sharp for roughly one week and honest thereafter. It suits summer running and brighter mornings, and it photographs well if that matters to you. The Pegasus 41 underneath treats the colour as incidental, which is the right order of priorities.

Cushioning comes from full-length ReactX foam, resilient rather than plush, paired with Air Zoom units at the heel and forefoot that keep the ride from flattening out. The engineered mesh upper vents heat effectively in warm weather. Outsole rubber is concentrated at the usual wear points, so pale uppers age rather faster than the ride does.
