The Cloudstratus has always been the double-layered one, using two rows of CloudTec pods to put more material between the foot and the road than almost anything else On makes. In this third women's version the cushioning stays deep but the ride is better organised, so the shoe feels supportive rather than simply tall underfoot.

Long runs, recovery days and high-mileage weeks are what it is for, especially for runners who prefer a substantial shoe. The Speedboard keeps the double stack moving forward, the women's upper holds the heel firmly over a high platform, and the broad base gives a notably stable landing when a long run starts to unravel.
