Light Silver keeps the ACG Zegama Trail GTX looking clean and technical, a pale grey that sits well against winter landscapes. The Gore-Tex lining is the point of this version: rain, wet bracken and shallow crossings stay on the outside, which changes what a long day in poor weather feels like. The tread is built for grip on greasy rock and churned ground.

It is the right shoe for upland paths in the wet months, for bog-edged moorland and for hikes where the forecast is unreliable. The cushioned platform stays comfortable over several hours, and the gusseted tongue blocks grit from working its way inside. Expect a warmer shoe than an open-mesh trail runner, which is welcome in the cold.
