Nike Zoomx Vaporfly Next 4% Bright Crimson

Bright Crimson is the colourway most people picture when they think of a Nike racing shoe, a vivid red upper set against a pale midsole. It is the fourth generation Vaporfly underneath, with a deeper ZoomX midsole, a full length carbon plate and an upper pared back to the minimum needed to hold the foot.

The ride leans smooth rather than sharp, with a rocker that keeps the stride moving when fatigue sets in. That makes it a sensible choice for a first marathon in a carbon shoe as well as for experienced racers. Rotate it with a cushioned daily trainer and keep the foam fresh for race mornings. The bright upper is also easy to spot in a crowded finish photo.
